Avenues of Service ![]() ClubClub Service involves those activities that affect the smooth operation of the individual Rotary club. The Club Service Chair oversees a number of committees in the club that are responsible for such functions as; attendance, greeters, club bulletin, fellowship, membership, programs, public relations, remembrances, classifications, Rotary information, technology management, club directory, public relations, finance and fund development. Club Service is the core of the local club and is dependent on its members to take charge of the various committees. At the district level, the Club Service advisor and his/her associates function as a clearinghouse of ideas and information for effective club administration. InternationalInternational Service involves activities of the club that promote world peace and cooperation among nations. At the district level, the International Service advisor helps clubs establish "twin club" arrangements with clubs in other countries and coordinate group study exchanges, ambassadorial scholarship awards, student exchanges and, in addition, helps find Matching Grant partners, assist with Simplified Grants, Friendship Exchanges, and Home Hospitalities. CommunityCommunity Service involves activities of the club that help make the community a better place in which to live. The Community Service chair oversees committees that dispense funds raised by the club for the benefit of not-for-profit activities in the community, that give awards for outstanding community leadership, and that provide opportunities for Rotarians to volunteer their time on worthwhile community projects. At the district level, the Community Service advisor and his/her associates function as a clearinghouse of ideas for club community service chairs. VocationalVocational Service involves Rotarians working with young people in the community to help prepare them for their future vocations through such activities as Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), vocational scholarships, and literacy programs. At the district level, the Vocational Service advisor and his/her associates help clubs exchange information about vocational service projects. |
