District train trip to Lincoln Museum

On January 19, 2008, Rotarians from District 6440 will board an Amtrak train departing Union Station in Chicago at 1:45 p.m. and arrive in Springfield at 5:14 p.m.

From the Amtrak Station in Springfield you will walk a short distance to the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel & Conference Center (www.presidentabrahamlincolnhotel.com) and check in for an evening of relaxation, swimming, fellowship, and family fun.

Sunday, January 20, we will tour the Lincoln Museum (www.alplm.org/home.html) and Lincoln's home (3-1/2 hours). The balance of the day will be spent enjoying the surrounding area.

On Monday morning we will depart Springfield at 8:33 a.m., arriving back at Union Station at 12:15 p.m. Train tickets are $32 per person (round trip) and tour tickets are $10 per person. Meals and beverages are on your own. You may pay the $42 fee for train and tour tickets by credit card when you register online or you may complete a registration form (available from your club president). Mail your completed form and check payable to District 6440 to: Looking for Lincoln - 6440, c/o Kristina Laib, 6413 Terrace Drive, Tinley Park, IL 60477.

Our hotel rate is $84 per night plus taxes. To reserve a room, call the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel directly at 866/788-1860 and tell the reservations person that you are with Rotary 6440.
